Fishing OH Boy! My favorite Alaskan sport. I know most of the boat captains, tackle shop owners and good holes on the rivers. Be ready to get serious with me if you want to talk about fishing on the Kenai Peninsula! You can arrange boats for drift fishing, motor boats (on the rivers) fishing, halibut fishing (near shore or deep water), salmon trolling, salmon mooching, clamming, fly fishing across the bay or anything else you can think of. If you prefer to fish on your own, with your boat or shore fishing I can tell you where to go and what you will need to be successful (besides me as your personal guide!). I have connections with the fish processors, so you are assured that your fish will be taken care after you catch them. The guided trips are priced from $85.00 per person to $225.00 per person. Most full day guided trips are $170.00 per person. HINT If you want some fishing and wildlife viewing, most of the fishing boats go through the same areas as the wildlife and bird tours. On your way out fishing you can see lots of wildlife. When you get out to the fishing grounds you can see whales, Orcas and dolphins, also lots of sea birds. The best whale watching I ever witnessed was silver salmon fishing near Pearl island. If you make a request when you book the fishing boat most captains will swing into these areas and on the way back make a side tour around gull island - time permitting.
